Note: There are 52 Blue Dogs, Democratic Congressmen who describe themselves as 'fiscally conservative'.
The policies of the Democratic leadership have been rejected by the American people. The Progressives' stubborn adherence to an economically crippling political agenda is incredible. The backlash of August 2009 has grown to include a willingness to perceive elements of the Democratic party as foreign, i.e. strange (some would add sordid and malignant)—unrecognizable as American.
This perception of the alien -- completely outside our uniquely American experience -- exists in increasing prominence across the land. This perception goes beyond the impression of Congressional arrogance seen nationwide in August, and includes outrageous behavior in the House and Senate, and shady White House appointments. There is the analogy of the mushroom hunter, who upon discovering one mushroom in the thick forest floor, suddenly sees the hundreds at his feet. So it is that opposition grows when citizens are apprised of the danger to their freedoms.
The people who rightly lay claim to American exceptionalism will not, cannot, turn a blind eye to the ever-burgeoning list of Progressive transgressions: Indoctrination in our schools, now descending to pre-school and day care; forced unionization; corruption feeding into high offices; adoration of history’s basest examples of humanity; and the advocating of sexual acts to children, to name a few.
Jack Cafferty of CNN recently referred to Nancy Pelosi as a horrible woman. We concur. The House Speaker has shown us the dark side. When asked if she thought the health care bill was constitutional, she replied, “Are you serious?” This was followed in quick succession by more reporters asking more senators and representatives the same question, and the answers were telling, if not satisfactory.
One Democrat, Senator Roland Burris of Illinois, actually misquoted The Constitution to make his point, by adding “health” to the Preamble.
Democrats on the floor in both House and Senate avail themselves of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, the handbook for Progressive deception, in rants: “pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Such is the malice displayed over and over by the Progressive Democrats that has served to steel their opposition’s resolve.
And finally, how can fiscal conservatives vote with their party in the face of the findings reported below?
The following names are from the top ten list of corrupt officials as disclosed in Judicial Watch’s 2009 report on corruption in government. Rep. Barney Frank, (D-MA), Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Attorney General Eric Holder, President Barack Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA). Nine of the top ten are allied with the Administration.
It is time to vote for the good of the country.
